Dalziel & Pow - UX/UI Website

Dalziel and Pow website

Overview - UX/UI Website

Redesign the website to offer a more visual, sharable content, highlity company skills, flexibility to change content and make a design adaptable to any type of device.

Research

I set up an numbers of meetings with internal directors from the different areas in the company to discuss the future of the website.

I visit stores that D&P has work on to understand more the business, looked at the brochures and print material that has been released on the last 5 years and I also look at google analytic the old website to gather information about which areas of the website were more clickable, what part the world the website has more visits, what kind the devices the website were more visited.

Sent over questions and presentations to directors and important decisions makers in the business to understand better what kind of users we would like to achieve with the new website.

I also looked at competitors to refine what they do best and worst in the industry.

The Process

After a lot of research we could define the personas of D&P website. From the personas I suggested areas on the website and listed the content we should have in each area.

I started creating a sitemap and wireframes and shared with the rest of the internal team and stakeholders.

When the wireframes and navigation was approved I moved to the designs.

In the design phase my research focus was more in the looking feel, tone of voice, photography direction, typography, color palette and types of animations for the transitions that I would like to use across the website.

Outcome

The website is Inspiring, informing, communicating the company personality, show the range of work but also is a channel with a good mix of great content.

It is less corporate and shows what the company thinks, heard, saw, sharing inspirations and crossing links between case studies and news and blog making the user navigate across all the areas through the website without notice.
