Overview - UI Instruction screen

SPYSCAPE is a new spy museum situated in Midtown Manhattan near MoMA. Visitors of the museum will be immersed in the secretive universe of espionage through storytelling and customised experiences.

Visitors will be able to test their observation skills, willingness to take risks and find out what kind of spy they would be.

Special Ops is a laser tunnel full of interactive buttons, smoke, sound and lights to test how agile visitors can react under pressure. Visitors are tasked with making their way though a laser beam maze, and pressing as many buttons as they can without touching the laser beams. 

My role

My role in this project was to focus on the UI and user experience of the screen, where messages and timing was display to visitors.

  • Created a Design system to be applied to the project and created the look and feel, which included art direction of motion graphics, typography, and graphic elements.

  • Direct motion graphics team to create transitions to engage and guide the users into the experience.

  • Ensured an excellent user experience by creating several prototypes and conducting user testing.

  • Build a variety of design artefacts to communicate your concepts to a broad range of partners and end users.

  • Working with the Brand & Design team to elevate and refine the brand experience across our digital interactions.

  • Work closely with the developers to make sure that we could recreate all the UI decisions into the code.

 
 

 

Look & Feel

The laser tunnel full of buttons on both walls, smoke, lasers and sound. The screen at the end displaying the timer, colours and graphics were designed to be very easy to be ready by distance and take in count the visitor are in a lot pressure to play the game.

Implementation/Testing

Multiple elements build up to test the user agility and reactions in laser tunnels enabling the visitors twist and crawl your way through a laser maze. I have to say this interaction was the most fun to test.
